Subcutaneous Layer's Functions!

-The Subcutaneous layer plays some major roles, and some of its main functions are  to provide a cushion for the delicate organs laying beneath the skin and to insulate the body to maintain body temperature.Subcutaneous layer also contains major blood vessels that supply the skin! (173)

The main role for adipose tissue is to store energy in form of lipids. Also the adipose tissue of the subcutaneous layer insulates and helps to conserve body heat and imending the entrance of heat from the outside! (173)
